The Railway Research Institute has been admitted into the VPI organisation

The VPI is the association "Vereinigung der Privatgüterwagen-Interessenten" [Association of Private Freight Car Users], founded in Berlin in 1921. The VPI is one of the oldest organisations in the railway industry. In addition to wagon owners, VPI members include wagon hire companies, repair and maintenance workshops and research and development bodies. There are 283 European organisations belonging to the VPI, including 11 from Poland.

Based on the VPI regulations, the Railway Research Institute provides training in non-destructive testing and the construction and operation of rail vehicle braking systems.
