ETCS and GSM-R certification challenges

Workshop in Warsaw, 30 July 2013

Workshop has been organised for all stakeholders involved in installation and certification of European Train Control System (ETCS) and Global System for Mobile Communication - Rail (GSM-R) to resolve challenges regarding certification of the ETCS and GSM-R in relations to the European Parliament and Council Directive on railway interoperability and the European Commission Decision establishing Control Command and Signalling subsystem Technical Specification for Interoperability (CCS TSI).

Agenda:

• General information about certification and authorisation (follow up of DV29, new documents, information about available databases, notification process , actors, etc.) – by European Railway Agency (ERA)
• ETCS related issues for certification and authorization (constituents, options, restrictions, L1 and L2) – by ERA
• Communication related issues for certification and authorization (constituents certification, safe integration, network assessment, involved parties) – by ERA
• Availability of test cases, recommendations, guide lines etc. – by ERA
• Lessons learned base on the Polish case of ETCS and GSM‐R certification in Poland – by Railway Institute in Warsaw
• Question and answer session
