ADVANCED RAIL TECHNOLOGIES

WARSAW, 18 - 19 NOVEMBER 2014, 3rd International Conference


CONFERENCE SUBJECT

The conference organized by Railway Institute (IK) and Faculty of Transport of Warsaw University of Technology will be the platform to exchange ideas related to the various aspects of rail transport. It aims to present the achievements of scientific and research centers, both national and international, dealing with the implementation and operation of modern technologies related to the rail transport.

CONFERENCE COVERS THE FOLLOWING AREAS OF RAIL TRANSPORT

1. Railway timetable and traffic:
Substantive coordinator: Dr Andrzej Żurkowski

  • modern forms of train timetabling;
    • computer-based scheduling;
    • contemporary operational issues;
    • the safety of railway traffic.

2.    Rail transport infrastructure:
Substantive coordinator: Dr Andrzej Massel

  • constructions of the superstructure of tracks and turnouts;
  • shaping of the track geometries;
  • access to the railway infrastructure;
  • new technical solutions for tram and metro.

3. Traffic management and IT for railways:
Substantive coordinator: Prof Mirosław Siergiejczyk

  • modern telecommunication solutions in the rail transport;
  • contemporary railway traffic control systems;
  • electromagnetic compatibility of traffic control systems and IT for railway applications;
  • issues of safety and reliability of traffic control systems and railway teleinformatics.

4. Traction and rolling stock:
Substantive coordinator: Prof Andrzej Chudzikiewicz

  • modern, efficient methods for transmission and distribution of electrical energy;
  • contemporary trends in design and construction of rail vehicles;
  • methods to improve cooperation between motive power and power system;
  • assessments methods and rational use of energy for traction.

5. Materials engineering and recycling in the rail industry:
Substantive coordinator: Dr Jolanta Radziszewska-Wolińska

  • new/modified materials and their properties;
  • new/modified manufacturing and processing technologies;
  • numerical design of manufacturing systems and materials;
  • new requirements and test methods for materials used in rail vehicles and infrastructure;
  • utilization of materials / vehicles recycling.

ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATIONS

2.   Conference venue: Hotel Holiday Inn, Telimeny 1 st., Józefów n. Warsaw.

4.   Publication of the conference proceedings:

All papers sent for presentation during the plenary and parallel sessions will be reviewed and qualified by the Programme Board. Abstracts (prepared in accordance with “Guidelines for Authors” - the abstract pattern) will be printed in the Conference Proceedings. Moreover, after receiving positive reviews and formatting the text according to the editorial requirements, conference proceedings the papers will be printed in journals:

-     Problemy Kolejnictwa,

-     Prace Naukowe Politechniki Warszawskiej – Transport,

-     Archives of Transport,

-     Archives of Transport System Telematics.

5.   Conference fee:

299 EUR gross per person – accommodation in a single room,

275 EUR gross per person – accommodation in a double room,

249 EUR gross per person – without accommodation,

150 EUR gross for accompanying person,

65 EUR gross per person – additional fee per night 17-18, November in a single room,

39 EUR gross per person – additional fee per night from 17-18, November in a double room,

Car parking for conference participants is free of charge.
